I thought being called “lock-load ratchet” it might have a ball bearing mechanism to hold the hex bits. But I don’t think it does. This would be handy if you are trying to drill in timber and want to extract the bit from the wood by reversing and pulling out. Otherwise you just pull the bit out of the driver and have to use pliers to get the bit out of the wood. But it looks to me like a pliers job.

More generally no idea how strong it is but it’s not a very elegant looking design.
