Here’s a quick photo of what I’m evaluating, trying to decide what will go in my pockets, what will go in the sling bag I carry my lunch in, and what will go in my precision tool bag, and what will go in my “Frequently Used Tool Roll” or other tool boxes.
Will, you’re putting my own collection to shame. This is incredible! You’ll have to let us know what makes the cut where. This is EDC to the MAX!
The things which I do EDC now are:
- Swiss Army Knife (usually a Boker though)
- the CRKT Getaway Driver — I’ve carried a flashlight in my pocket since first sending away for a combination whistle/fashlight from an ice cream treat wrapper when I was in elementary school, and it’s a useful packaging up of #1 and #2 Phillips, and a bit holder/extender which allows quite a bit of torque
- The Gear Infusion EverRatchet ---- smallest ratcheting option out there (at least until I can score a Leatherman Ratchet) and the 4mm hex in it is quite useful for tightening Ikea furniture
- The Swiss-Tech Utili-Key ---- it’s very convenient for clipping the above two items together
I’m currently considering two things which aren’t pictured as well — a Daysaver Essential8 (though I’m tempted by the new IncredibleX), and a flat folding pair of pliers, either one from a now discontinued SOG belt-buckle, or the Supra Tag folding pliers (but it looks like I waited too long on the latter) — or maybe the Leatherman Mini.
