New Cube needed

Hi,

why i need a new cube:

I’m a proud owner of the first cube edition from KS. Those where not as slow as hoped. But finally i found a solution: superglue to seal the small gap at the bottom of the cube. Unfortunately i didn’t take the pistons out. The superglue crawled deeper than expected and the pistons were glued.

I removed the now superglued bottom plate and thought it would be a good idea to use a hammer to knock the pistons out. Shure i need something to soften the impact, i took a thick peace of foam rubber to protect the surface of the pistons. But of course, the foam rubber was not thick enough and now i have three dents on one of the pistons.

Did i get the pistons out? Yes, but not with the hammer. Solution was to put the whole cube in hot water, wich loosens the glue and the pistons could be pushed out with a finger

Then i used the superglue method to seal the bottom again, this time without the pistons and voila, now the cube is much slower as i mentioned earlier in another post

But those ugly dents…

steelcut, I still need my first cube. Due to being in California they are release when I’m asleep (2am) or in a meeting at work.
I do like your your solution and how you solved it, and I too, would want a second cube.

D, have you tried during our 5pm launch? That should be around 9am for you if we’ve calculated correctly.

steelcut, we’d be happy to look into possibly refurbishing this for you if you’d be interested?

Peg,

Yes, I did but I was a bit late and they had all sold out. I want one but I’m also glad it’s so popular.

I’ll keep trying until I get one. No rush, as it’s just a toy. A very, very cool toy, but it’s not like it’s an actual tool. And tools are my weakness.

steelcut, send an email over to us at hello@metmocube.com> and we’ll sort something out for ya!
