Technical and Maintenance Information

One of the extra things I really appreciate about MetMo is all the helpful, detailed when necessary, information you provide in your newsletters and other communications about how to use your creations most effectively and how to adjust and maintain them.

Sorry for the late reply here! We shared your lovely comment with the rest of the team, raved about it, and then forgot to say thank you!

Thanks for the shout out, it’s so lovely to hear that these things don’t go unnoticed :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:.

is a Fractal Vise maintenance video on the way? I’ve been using mine in the metalsmithing studio (it’s amazing :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:) and so far I’ve only been brushing it clean with a paint brush – but despite the clever system of screwed-in seals, I’m sure there are silver and bronze sweeps in the interior. I’m nervous about taking it apart into too many pieces without guidance :upside_down_face: and does it need lubrication, and what kind, and how often?

We have a full assembly video on our YouTube channel HERE.

This will show you how to put everything back together after you give it a good clean up. We recommend using a damp microfibre cloth for cleaning and any oil would work well for lubrication. We don’t recommend doing this regularly, but of course as often as you like!

Give us a shout if you have any more questions .

Peg, Shay and MetMo Team,

Thank you so much for this YouTube video. So well done, so helpful. I really like the way you laid out all the pieces and showed, in sequence, how to reassemble. Maybe not necessary for the engineers among your club members, but a real gift to others, people like me.
