Hey guys,
We've had some comments on the Pocket Driver campaign asking for a bit more of an explainer for what the Separator actually is and how it works.
The function is to sit between the Pocket Driver and the Magnetic bit case and act almost like a washer or gasket that precisely fits into the chamfers on both products. This allows the Pocket Driver to still grab on to the neodymium magnet on the rear of the case and removes all of the rocking/ sliding that can happen when the two are connected by themselves.
Here's a handly little GIF of them all locking together.
We also included a paracord hole on the top corner so you can attach them all together easily.
We'll be releasing the CAD files of the Separator after the campaign ends, so everyone with a printer can make their own. We've also included it as a physical add-on too for those that don't have access to 3D printers.
Hope this helps shed a bit of light on what is quite a random looking doodad on its own!
Where can I get the separator?
Now I've got my pocket driver and bit kit in my hands, I'm itching to fire up the 3D printer and make myself a Separator. Any news on the CAD file release date?
