There’s been a bit of confusion about what the final finish will be for the Light Driver. Here’s a little post explaining what you can expect and why things may seem a little muddled.
The Light version of the Driver you saw in our original campaign imagery was a Mild Steel version. This was simply a prototype version and was handmade by one of our Team members, James and his dad Geoff in their workshop.
We had always planned to make the Light Driver out of Aluminium with a polished finish. Much like the finish on our Aluminium MetMo Pen. However, upon receiving our pre-production samples, it turned out the manufacturer had given the Light Driver a sandblasted finish.
We quite liked the look of this finish, however, the majority of you guys did not agree. Which is no problem to us, as we like to keep our community happy! 😉 So, ultimately we have decided upon the polished Aluminium finish, which looks much like the original prototype shown on Kickstarter.
