Packing up the add-ons and Drivers
We jumped straight in last week and started doing dry runs, which included packing up around 700 Bit Handle boxes in our first ever Driver assembly line!
We started by folding 100's of Bit Handle boxes into a huge grid, which allowed us to quickly QC and box up the Bit Handles uninterrupted. This also makes a super satisfying time lapse which I can't stop watching!
This week we've been testing out the main Driver assembly line, which has now been rolled out to the rest of our team in the workshop to carry out the bulk of the packing.
I would normally hand write and sign a note to you all and include it in the packaging, but this time we are sending out the Drivers to a fulfilment center, so there is no way of doing it unfortunately. So apologies in advance, but I have still put a letter in there for you!
Building A Bit Kit
The add-on Bit Kits are all here and we are making up each of these parts now. With nearly 2,500 to make we think it will take 3 to 4 days to get all of these packed up.
MetMo drawings
Thanks to everyone that had a look at the digital drawings and gave us some feedback on them. This is a stack of printed drawings ready to roll up and send out!
Elastic avenue
A slight modification to the packaging for anyone in the USA and EU, you'll notice that the MetMo boxes have 2 black elastic bands on them. This is just to ensure that they survive the handling process as they go through the fulfilment centers.
Going Grey waiting for the rest of the parts is over
Some more good news! The problems that we have had with the grey handles have now been resolved and they are now on their way to us and will be with us in a few weeks. We will start to send these out directly from our workshop as to not slow anything down.
The line up above looks so simple but getting them all to be consistent has been a real battle, so anyone that is lucky enough to have chosen the grey driver although it is beautiful this will be the only batch we make so you will own a limited edition!
Logistical plans
We are now entering the final stages where we have almost all of the components. We are building and packing about 450 Drivers a day and putting in some serious shifts! Our main job at the moment is making up about 4,500 Drivers that will be air mailed to a fulfilment center in California, where they will be sent out individually to everyone in the USA.
Next we'll be sending out everything to our fulfilment center in Europe, then finally everything else to the UK and rest of world will be sent out directly from our workshop. The aim being that with the time it takes for Drivers to travel to the fulfilment centers around the world and be processed, we'll be able to ship the remaining Drivers direct from our HQ and everyone should start to receive their Drivers around the same time.
We are working as hard as we can now, putting in the extra hours to get these all packed up in good time. Our aim is that they will all be sent out by the end of February at the very latest. Now we have everything we need and now have a lot more control over the timeline and are working hard to reduce this down as much as possible.
I hope you have enjoyed this update and it gives a taste of things happening and the imminent fulfilment and delivery of the Drivers. Any questions, as always please do let me know in the comments below.
Hope you all have a happy January and we will be in touch soon as we start to ship or interesting things continue to happen!
Until next time stay safe and keep up with those New Year's resolutions!
