I was fortunate enough to pick up an old but well loved egg beater drill from a flea market. I use it occasionally and I cherish it.
It got me thinking what MetMo's take on one of these might be, and how you might apply your design style to reimagine it as a tool and fidget toy.
I have visions of being able to take it apart and reassemble it Transformers-style into a spinning top using the handle, the large gear wheel, and the chuck. It would be especially cute if the drill was scaled down to begin with.

I'd love to see someone make a really nice one --- that said, it's kind of hard to take this on as a product when Schroeder is still making quite nice ones. restored Millers Falls drills are quite affordable, and Lee Valley has an incredibly cute (but unfortunately single pinion) recreation of a vintage model --- that said, given that when examples of Bridge City Tool Works are selling for almost $1K, maybe there's room for something nice.
Yankee Tools used to include them in their tool kits --- maybe the solution is a nice box?
